Hi, my name is Lianne Bitton Johnson, I spent my childhood on the homestead with my parents, siblings, my paternal grandparents, and also, my an Uncle and Aunt and their family in a little community named Lago, Idaho. My maternal grandparents lived 3 miles down the road. A short distance for a girl and her horse. I had an idyllic childhood and spent many hours at the feet of my grandparents listening to their life stories. At that time, I started to love family history and I’ve been involved ever since. My family history research has evolved in stages. First, I loved the stories. Second, I took classes from a sweet older lady at USU that had perfected a paper and pencil family history system with many forms. The resources to search were all at a Family History Library in Logan, Utah. I loved spending time there with the cute older people. Also, I went to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Third, I went to a business college in Salt Lake City and took my roommates to the Family History Library and Church History Library on Friday nights. My roommates were dumbfounded that we spent our evenings doing family history. Fourth, I married and had little ones and gathered information on my family, like TIB’s, Pedigree sheets, and family group sheets, and reading family histories. Fifth, I received my teaching degree and taught 5th graders and didn’t have time for much else, but kinda kept up with what was happening in Family History. Sixth, retired and ready to do Family History full force, but quickly saw that there had been major changes with digital records and standards and a whole new way to do research. End of a long story, I found Nicole & Diana @ FamilyLocket.com and I am following their great system to research correctly.
